Jammu, May 5 — In response to credible intelligence warnings suggesting possible terror strikes, security across major prisons in Jammu and Kashmir has been significantly reinforced. Authorities have declared a high alert at sensitive correctional facilities, particularly the Srinagar Central Jail and Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu—both of which currently hold some of the most notorious figures involved in terror-related activities.
According to intelligence sources, there is a growing concern that these prisons could become focal points for a larger terror plot. Many inmates housed in these facilities are either convicted terrorists or members of sleeper cells who, although not always active in direct assaults, have been instrumental in coordinating logistics, providing safe havens, and enabling the movement of operatives across the Valley.
