Army Soldier Dies of Cardiac Arrest in Poonch

Srinagar, May 5 : In a tragic incident, an Indian Army soldier lost his life following a sudden cardiac arrest in the Haveli sector of Poonch district during the intervening night of May 4 and 5.
According to official sources, the soldier, identified as Naik Gurban Singh, 32, son of Pritam Singh and a native of Punjab, experienced severe chest pain while on duty. His colleagues acted swiftly, rushing him to District Hospital Poonch in an attempt to save his life. However, upon arrival, medical professionals pronounced him brought dead.
Singh was a dedicated serviceman known for his discipline and sense of duty. His sudden demise has cast a shadow of grief over his unit and fellow soldiers, many of whom remembered him as a committed and courageous member of the force.
Following standard procedure, the body was subjected to medico-legal formalities before being handed over to the Army unit for further arrangements. His mortal remains are expected to be sent to his hometown in Punjab, where final rites will be performed with full military honors.
The local police have taken cognizance of the matter and initiated the necessary legal formalities.
This untimely loss serves as a solemn reminder of the physical and emotional demands faced by soldiers, even during peacetime duties in challenging terrains.
