Srinagar,14 April:- Social and political activist Tafazul Wani recently made strong remarks regarding the Anti-Corruption Bureau’s (ACB) action in a land scam allegedly involving Member of Parliament Aga Ruhullah Mehdi. Wani expressed deep gratitude to the ACB for taking timely action against what he described as a "land scam mafia."

He stated that the encroachments included land belonging to Kashmiri Pandits, graveyards, and government properties. “Even the relatives of those involved were part of the encroachments. They were using the political influence of MP Aga Ruhullah and claiming that nothing would happen to them because he has their back,” Wani alleged.

Wani further added that individuals from the Bandipora area had informed him about similar encroachments, where the accused reportedly said they had the support of Aga Ruhullah. “After learning this, I personally requested the ACB to intervene, and I am very thankful for their immediate action,” he added.

Tafazul Wani also warned that strict action will be taken in the future against any Patwaris, Tehsildars, ACRs, or other officials found involved in such illegal activities. He credited the current central government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for its transparent governance. “Modi Ji’s government is working with integrity and in the interest of the nation,” he said.

 Tafazul Wani also welcomed the Waqf Amendment Bill and extended his gratitude to Union Minister Kiran Rijiju and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “This bill is a historic step for the welfare of Muslims. It ensures that Waqf properties are protected and used for the rightful benefit of the poor and deserving,” he said.

Criticizing the National Conference, Congress, and other parties opposing the Waqf Amendment Bill, Wani accused them of being involved in looting Waqf properties. “For decades, they have misused the name of Waqf and deprived the poor. But now, their time is up,” he asserted.

Tafazul Wani also urged for greater public involvement in the management of Waqf affairs, emphasizing that for over seventy years, poor people were kept away from their rightful share in Waqf resources.
