 Israel Urges Nationals to Leave Kashmir Amid Rising Tensions

Tel Aviv, May 8 (PTI): In response to escalating conflict between India and Pakistan, Israel has revised its travel advisory, urging its citizens currently in Kashmir to "leave immediately."

The updated warning follows Indian military operations targeting terror sites in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Pakistan's Punjab province. These strikes were part of Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation for the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives.

Pakistan's military reported 31 casualties and 57 injuries from the Indian missile strikes. Following the strikes, intense artillery and mortar shelling from the Pakistan army hit villages along the Line of Control (LoC), resulting in 13 deaths, including four children and a soldier, and leaving 57 others wounded.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry has strongly advised its nationals to avoid traveling to Jammu and Kashmir, except for Ladakh, aligning with the National Security Council's existing advisory. Israelis present in the region have been instructed to follow local security guidelines and evacuate immediately.
